 Un post dedicado a la temporada completa de la nueva FIA GT3. Toda la información ha sido extraída de la debutante página oficial de la FIA, La cual tomare como referencia para mantener informado el post. He apartado dos respuesta por cada carrera del campeonato, en la primera colocare los datos de calificación, comentarios y resultado final de la carrera, y en la segunda fotos de los coches de la GT3 en carrera y del podiun de vencedores.  06/05/2006 Ludwig and Moullin-Traffort take first two FIA GT3 poles A number of cars could not take part in the qualifying session because of mechanical problems, such as the nr 19 Riverside Corvette Z06. After an oil leak during the free practice sessions, they had to change the engine of this Corvette.Anthony Reid was the first driver to be on the provisional pole position in the history of the FIA GT3 European Championship. But positions changed and Allan Simonsen, with the JMB Racing Ferrari 430 Challenge, went faster. After ten minutes, former FIA GT Champion Klaus Ludwig went faster again, with a time of 1:54.404. Nobody was able to beat him, even though Simonsen improved at the end of the session to 1:54.537. First of the Aston Martin, Marcello Zani set the third-fastest time, in front of the first Dodge Viper Competition Coupe, the nr29 Pouchelon Racing of Anthony Reid. The first Porsche, the nr9 Tech9 Motorsport driven by Sean Edwards was 5th, followed by the nr45 Ascari of Aaron Scott finished in 6th position. Six different cars on the top 6, six different cars on the same second… the first start of the season is going to be exciting.The early part of the second 20-minute qualifying session was led by the nr 26 and 27 Racing Box Dodge Vipers driven by Marco Cioci and Andrea Ceccato. But quickly the times improved and Morgan Moullin-Traffort, with the nr 6 Autosport Promotion Porsche 997 Cup set the pole position with a lap of 1:54.359, before returning to the pits. At the end of the session, Fred Makowiecki, in spite of gear box problem, improved and set the second-fastest time with the nr 12 Racing Logistic Dodge Viper Competition Coupe. The first row of the second race is going to be 100% French.Englishman Ben Collins, set a brilliant fourth time, first of the Ascari cars, whereas the first Aston Martin, the nr23 BMS Scuderia, was on 7th position. Once again, the top five were in the same second, all the cars are very close.   El team JMB Racing Ferrari consigue la primera victoria de la FIA GT3! Most of the GT3 teams had their first experience of wet running during the exciting inaugural race in the FIA GT3 European Championship. The Dodge Viper Competition Coupe cars dominated the beginning of the race, with Duqueine ahead of Zonca and Ceccato, but after the driver change, when the track started to dry, everything was different. With slick tyres, nr34 JMB Ferrari 430 Challenge, nr9 Tech9 Mortorsport Porsche 997 Cup and nr45 Ascari KZ1R put in an incredible end to the race, taking the chequered flag in this order. Therefore, JMB Racing Ferrari's Allan Simonsen and Hector Lester became the first winners in the history of the FIA GT3 European Championship. When the rain falls, the British drivers appear to be in their element! Team-mates last year in the British GT Championship, Allan Simonsen and Hector Lester started the season very well by winning the opening race of the FIA GT3 European Championship. However, the race had not got off to a perfect start for the nr34 JMB Racing Ferrari 430 Challenge GT3, when Lester, in second position, spun after a misunderstood with Tech 9 Porsche driven by Deverikos. However, JMB Racing chose the perfect strategy when they decided to put slick tyres on, during the obligatory driver change. "The team made the best decision, with slick tyres we were much faster than the others, and it was fun to overtake three or four cars per lap" declared Simonsen, very happy with this first victory. "This Championship is fantastic, with more than 40 cars on the grid, it is incredible. We started it by the best way, but tomorrow is another day…"   Victoria para el team Racing Box Dodge en la segunda carrera de la FIA GT3 Just like in the first race, everything changed during the last lap of the second round of the new FIA GT3 European Championship ! In wet conditions, Danish driver Allan Simonsen and Northern Irish driver Hector Lester, whose nr34 JMB Racing Ferrari 430 Challenge GT3 had dominated since the beginning of the race, was overtaken by the nr 26 and nr 27 Racing Box Dodge Viper Competition Coupe cars. However, the the nr 26 car was awarded a drive-through penalty for an avoidable collision, meaning that Stefano Livio and Andrea Ceccato, in the nr 27 Racing Box Dodge Viper Competition Coupe, became the second winners this season. With second place, however, Simonsen and Lester have taken an early Championship lead.

 para el postracer puedes aclararme este campeonato, es q no entiendo q estando el FIA GT, la fia tenga otro campeonato llamado FIA GT3, q se corre practicamente con los mismos coches ¿? y otra cuestion, hay forma de seguir el campeonato a traves de algun canal de TV? |

Prácticas del Viernes 05/05/06   05/05/2006 Pouchelon Racing leads first free practice The inaugural meeting of the FIA GT3 European Championship has got underway with the first-ever free practice session. The one-hour session, on Silverstone's Grand Prix circuit, was led by the nr 29 Pouchelon Racing Dodge Viper Coupe, driven by Gilles Duqueine and Anthony Reid. Second was the JMB Racing Ferrari 430 Challenge car of Allen Simonsen and Hector Lester, with Tech 9 Motorsport's Porsche of Deverikos and Edwards third. The leading Aston Martin DBRS9 was fourth, driven by Mugelli and Zani, with the Ascari of Collins and Scott seventh and the leading Corvette ninth. With four different makes in the top four, and six in the top nine, the Championship is off to a good and varied start !'    05/05/2006 Moullin-Traffort fastest in second free practice At the end of the afternoon, Morgan Moullin-Traffort set the fastest time of the day on the nr 6 Autosport Promotion Porsche 997 Cup. The first Corvette, the nr 19 Riverside driven by James Ruffier and François-Xavier Terny, was on second position but had to stop before the end of the session because of an oil leak. Fred Makowiecki and Jean-Yves Adam, on the nr 12 Racing Logistic Dodge Viper Coupe, were first of the Viper, and third overall. First Aston Martin DBRS9, nr 23 BMS Scuderia Italia driven by Massimiliano Mogelli and Marcello Zani was 5th, just in front of the first Ferrari 430 Challenge GT3, the nr 34 JMB Racing. Once again, five different cars in the top six prove that the FIA GT3 European Championship is closed and already exciting. Few cars had little problem during this session, but no major trouble were known, which is quite a huge performance for all that 44 brand new cars present in Silverstone.
