PRESENTADO!! Anticipation of the upcoming Geneva auto show is showing through in the reveals already taking place. BMW has just let slip its John Cooper Works Mini Cooper S and Clumban models, and we’ve got all the details and pictures. Following on the tradition of saving the sportiest variants for the John Cooper Works line of Mini cars, the latest Cooper S and Clubman models bring very similar stats to the performance party. At 155kW (211hp) 260Nm torque, the 1.6L twin-scroll turbocharged petrol four-cylinder provides the power to get the JCW Cooper S to 100km/h (62mph) in just 6.5s. The Clubman follows at 6.8s. An ‘overboost’ feature allows the JCW Minis to bump torque up to 280Nm for short stints under hard acceleration. Top speed comes at 238km/h (148mph). While traction control gets in the way of the fun - although it helps to limit torque steer around town - a press of the DSC-off button gets rid of some of the electronic-nannying while also engaging an Electric Differential Lock on the drive axle, which improves handling and acceleration in much the same way a limited slip differential does. Both models also get special lightweight 17″ wheels, stronger brakes, exhaust tuning and a standard six-speed transmission. Starting price in Europe is €27,700 for the John Cooper Works Mini and the Clubman starts at €29,500. The increased power output of the new Minis comes from optimising the air-pump qualities of the 1.6L petrol four-banger. The air filter, mass airflow sensor, exhaust and catalyst have all been optimized to flow the greatest amount of air possible. Green considerations were not cast aside completely, either, with the Cooper S-based model achieving a fuel efficiency of 6.9L/100km (34mpg) and 165g/km CO2 emissions and the Clubman yielding 7.0L/100km (33.6mpg) and 167g/km CO2. 2008 JCW Mini Clubman      2008 JCW Mini Cooper        SU SEGUIMIENTO... Le han puesto esas por que son las mas ligeras originales. Estan haciendo 2 modelos nuevos de llantas especificos para que quepan esos preciosos frenos de 4 pistones que JCW sacará en breve a la venta... Los actuales JCW para r56 pasaran a ser los frenos de serie de los r56. |

Autoblog Spanish Siguiendo el relanzamiento de John Cooper Works como división de altas prestaciones de MINI, el fabricante está preparando la presentación del nuevo JCW MINI Cooper S durante el Salón de Ginebra de marzo próximo. Aunque tendremos que esperar unos días para ver las fotos oficiales, ya tenemos algunos detalles del nuevo y poderoso hatchback. JCW ha rediseñado, actualizado y mejorado el turbocargador, los pistones, la toma de aire, la transmisión, el embrague, los frenos, las llantas, escape y la unidad de control electrónico. Según los chicos de MotoringFile, son los nuevos pistones los que mejoran drásticamente la potencia, revolucionando más rápido, pero también de manera más suave que los del Cooper S estándar. Se espera que la potencia sea de entre 210 y 220 caballos (frente a los 172 del S), mientras que el par motor se elevará a 279 Nm. Para manejar la potencia adicional, JCW colocó una caja mecánica de seis velocidades con un embrague más grande, que mueve unas llantas de aleación ligera similares a las del Challenge de carreras. Según MINI, la velocidad máxima será de 260 km/h, en lugar de los 240 km/h del Cooper S convencional. En resumen, el JCW Cooper S ofrecerá prestaciones superiores en un completo paquete de fábrica, el cual comenzará a ser producido en junio próximo. El kit JCW se ofrecerá también para el Clubman, y más adelante para el descapotable R57, cuyo debut está previsto en marzo de 2009. |

Que cifras mas raras!!! No sabia que el R56 Cooper S tenia una velocidad maxima de 238!!! Pensaba que era 225, y la potencia 175, no 172. Pero bueno, no se sabe!! Me parece una burrada los 260 del JCW, no creo que Bmw permita que pase de 250, vamos no creo, porque ningun Bmw pasa de 250, pero al ser Mini..... |

Igual estas aburrido de pilotar Minis...o eres ingeniero y sabes bien de lo que hablas. El coche tendra mil fallos...pero que el chasis no este a la altura...

Lleva el molinillo instalado  1.6 litros, 192cv. Tiene patada, pero lo veo falto de estabilidad. |

lo unico es que esta presentacion es del kit jcw de motor, llevado al extremo con 211cv... debe ser un bicho de mucho cuidado jejeje que lo disfrute mucho |
