Marking the launch of the Infiniti brand in Western Europe, officials have added a new exlcusive model to the lineup in the form of the EX37 compact crossover. Joining the G37 coupe and sedans, the new EX37 sports Nissan’s updated 3.7L V6 engine with 305hp and 350Nm on tap, 8hp more than the U.S.-spec EX35. Like U.S. models, the EX37 features Nissan’s ‘Around View Monitor’ system giving drivers a bird’s eye view of the vehicle when parking. It’s also available with a new seven-speed automatic transmission and comes with tinted rear windows, 18in alloys and integrated foglights as standard. The suspension is comprised of a double wishbone set up at the front and multi-link arrangement at the rear. The AWD system is Nissan’s ATTESA E-TS, a similar set-up to that used on the mighty GT-R, and includes an active torque distribution management system with an active centre clutch for smooth starts, greater grip and better maneuverability. The system can send between 50 and 100% of engine torque to either the front or rear axle. To keep weight to a minimum, extensive use has been made of lightweight parts. As well as featuring in the suspension systems, aluminum is used for the bonnet, while the tailgate is resin. Inside, there’s optional heated leather seats, satellite navigation, a rear view parking camera, voice recognition and a Bose stereo. The European G37 sedan, meanwhile, features the larger displacement 3.7L engine as well but it’s output is detuned to 305hp, the same as the U.S. market G35. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/c...infiniti-ex37/ |
