Radical Announces LMP1 Coupe Intentions Radical Sportscars has revealed intentions to enter the LMP1 market in the future. Following the announcement by the ACO that they would like Le Mans P1 class cars to be coupes in 2010, Radical has released images illustrating how a SR10 LMP1 car may look like, built to the current regulations. “The ACO have yet to finalize the regulations for the new P1 class, but when they do, Radical will be ready to respond,” Radical co-founder, Mick Hyde elaborates. “We have already demonstrated our credentials with the SR9 and we now have a design and manufacturing team capable of producing a very competitive car.” Radical is actively seeking manufacturers who would like to enter the Le Mans arena. This is an opportunity for a manufacturer to go head-to-head with the likes of Audi and Peugeot. “I see this as a great opportunity for a manufacturer to get involved with Radical,” Hyde said. “To date Audi have had it all their own way. Pescarolo has shown what a small team can do, but we believe that the combination of a specialist constructor like Radical and the active involvement of a manufacturer, will bring success both on the track and from a P.R. perspective.” “The SR9 of Rollcentre Racing would have been on the top step of the podium but for a racing incident and minor gremlins in the dying moments of the last two races,” Tim Greaves explained. “Our SR9 was the fastest car on the circuit in the wet at Donington and we were only knocked off pole by 2 tenths of a second, by a last minute banzai lap from Tommy Erdos. So we have proved we can make a good ‘out of the box’ race car. The next logical step is P1 and we are keen to do it! The 2010 P1 cars are destined to have more of a ‘road car look’, have simpler lines with less visible ducting and a smaller rear wing. |

No es por nada, pero es hasta bonito Lástima que los Audi sean de momento tan superiores, a ver si ahora que entran peugeot y alguna más le meten un poquito de caña, para que sea emocionante, que ultimamente están sosilas las 24hrs Por cierto, ¿se sabe si sigue para adelante el proyecto de Epsilon? |
